Recommended Language for New Child Support Orders
Effective Sept. 1, 2003, all new child support orders established in Harris County must direct the child support payments to the Texas Child Support Disbursement Unit. The Office of the Attorney General of Texas has issued guidance on language that should be included in new child support orders. The guidance is in this notice

Family Protective Filing Fee
Effective October 1, 2004, a $15.00 Family Protective Filing Fee will be added to all suits for dissolution of a marriage filed in Harris County, pursuant to Section 51.961, Texas Government Code.
